Walnut Forest Academy is forging a new path in education for children to develop into independent thinkers, creative action-takers, and whole human beings. With our curriculum rooted in Holistic Education, we teach children through experiential, hands-on, arts-integrated, and land-based learning.
We offer part and full-time options, small class sizes (1:8 ratio), multi-aged groupings, two-thirds of the day spent outdoors, child-led inquiry-based learning, a caring school community, and support and accommodations for neurodivergent children and those with other exceptionalities.
Walnut Forest Academy was established in 2023 by Dr. Traci L. Scheepstra, Ph.D., an award-winning educator with over thirty years of experience in teaching and learning. In the fall of 2024, Walnut Forest Academy officially became a listed private school with the Ontario Ministry of Education.
Our school is nestled in the township of Eden Mills, ON, a charming community surrounded by walking trails, waterways, farmland, and forests. We are only a short drive from Guelph, Rockwood, Acton, and Campbellville, and up to thirty minutes driving distance from Milton, Cambridge, and Elora.
